Pierwood Construction Co. was founded by Tom Werner in 1987. With his vision and under his leadership, Pierwood quickly gained a solid reputation for building quality homes and light commercial properties.
In January 2019, a new era began as Ken Richards assumed majority ownership. Ken earned a Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering Technology from Southern College of Technology in 1992 and has been President of the company since 2004. He has been strongly involved in every aspect of the day to day operations of Pierwood with an innovative outlook. Ken is a past President and current Board Member of the Builders Association of Metro Augusta and was honored as the 2010 Builder of The Year. On the cutting edge of new dynamic designs, we incorporate large open floor plans for today's lifestyle. Pierwood takes great pride in being able to transform our client's idea into a custom home.
From concept to completion, the entire Pierwood team is focused on making the home construction process the best it can be.
Pierwood has achieved the Certified Green Professional designation from NAHB and is constantly working to make houses more energy efficient. Additionally, Pierwood provides 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty on each new home to ensure that all new homebuyers have the industry's most comprehensive warranty coverage.
KEN
RICHARDS
Ken has been with Pierwood Construction since 1993 after receiving his bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering Technology from Southern Polytechnic State University. On the cutting edge of new and dynamic designs, Ken stresses large open floor plans for today’s lifestyle. He takes great pride in being able to transform a client’s idea into a custom home. Ken is also a state director for the HBAG, and a national director for the NAHB. Ken, his wife Kim, and their daughters Caroline and Catherine live in Evans.
DENISE
FRECHETTE
Denise has been with Pierwood since 1992. A native Augustan, she graduated from Augusta State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. Denise is responsible for negotiating the price of materials with suppliers and sub-contractors. Her work ethic and business sense allows Pierwood to give a fair price to our homeowners without cutting any corners. Denise, her husband Andy, and daughter Felecia live in Martinez.
MARIANNE FRYE
Marianne works closely with the entire Pierwood staff as an administrative assistant. Her duties include making selections for spec homes and meeting with the custom home buyers to help design their new home. Additionally, she acquires all permits for new projects. As property manager for Pierwood Investment Corp. (PIC), Marianne is in charge of all rental properties PIC offers in the Columbia County area, both residential and commercial. NATHAN
PATRICK
Nathan has been with Pierwood Construction since 1999. He received a Bachelor of Architecture from Southern Polytechnic State University. Nathan’s design background makes him a tremendous asset to Pierwood in the office as a plan designer and in the field as a project supervisor. His outgoing personality allows him to work well with homeowners during the home design process. Nathan, his wife Andrea, and his daughters Lorelai, Sloane, and Jolene live in Evans, GA.
ELIZABETH
CHAMBERS
Elizabeth has been with Pierwood since May of 2014. She conducts a pre-closing walk through with our new homeowners and makes sure that all Pierwood warranty concerns are attended to in a timely manner. Elizabeth manages the website and all of Pierwood Constructions social media accounts as well. Give Elizabeth a call if you have any questions or concerns about your Pierwood home. Joining the Pierwood team in September of 2018, Joel is the newest member of the Pierwood team. He is one of our project managers and can be found out working out in the field to ensure new production is being completed on time and correctly.
